The Flight of a Lifetime

The Flight of a Lifetime

One day at school, we were told we were going on a flight.  We were very excited.

On the day we were going to fly, it was postponed.  Ahhh!

So the next day, we went on the flight, and when I got in the air, it was like breaking the bounds of gravity.  You feel free from stress up there.  You feel weightless.

We went 1,000, then 2,000, then 3,000 feet into the air.  It was an awesome experience!

Brown to Green

Brown to Green

Brown is not a nice color.

Brown is mud.

Brown is dirt.

You will wait and wait,

But brown will stay and stay.

Until . . . . .

Is that green?

I say it is green!

Green is finally here!

Grass is creeping up from the ground!

The flowers bloom with life!

The birds sing with joy!

The brook flows with dancing!

The trees provide a radiance!

Spring is here!

The Graveyard (a persuasive piece about a Vermont family adventure)

Graveyard Family Adventure

I think you should go to the graveyard.

I saw a World War I veteran’s grave and a Civil War veteran’s grave.  I did a rubbing of a Civil War veteran’s stone.

The graveyard was clearly very old.  My brother helped me do the rubbing, but first I did the Civil War grave.  I tried another grave, but that did not work. I went home and came back later with a black pastel.
